FIREWORKS FESTIVAL: WIN FOR ENGLAND

Chronicle by Sergio Martinez

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, fireworks lit up the Montreal sky again. This year's winners were announced on August 6, along with a tribute show to the group Genesis.

Pyrotex Fireworx representing England, took the Golden Jupiter trophy for their 60 Years of Success show. It was indeed a flawless presentation both in its overall conception and in the selection of its soundtrack, with emphasis on the evolution of British popular music over the past 60 years, as well as in its precise timing of the pyrotechnic and musical elements. Above all, the presentation captivated the public by the extraordinary beauty of the colourful display of its pyrotechnics. Undoubtedly an entirely deserved first prize.

The second prize -Silver Jupiter- went to Hungary, represented by the firm Nuvu with its show Universal Culture through a sample of Hungarian music. Although the music came from many places, there was also an excellent synchronization of the musical and pyrotechnic elements and a perfect combination of colours in the fireworks.

Canada, represented this time by Orion, took the third prize - Bronze Jupiter - with its show Myths and Legends of Quebec.
